Two arrests made in South Wheeling robbery

WHEELING, W.Va. — Shortly after a Wheeling business was robbed at knifepoint Tuesday evening, two suspects in the case were arrested by Wheeling Police and the Ohio County Sheriff’s office.

According to police, an employee at the South Wheeling Domino’s Pizza on Jacob Street called 911 at about 8:50 p.m. saying they were robbed. Devin Sue Howell, 28, of Wheeling was later arrested and charged with first-degree robbery.

In a release Wednesday by the Wheeling Police, William Edward Ruckman, 47, of Wheeling was also arrested in the case and is charged with one count of first-degree robbery.

Ruckman was arraigned Wednesday by an Ohio County Magistrate and his bond was set at $10,000 cash only.

According to the employee, the suspects entered the business demanding to open the register for cash with a visible weapon.

Howell and Ruckman were both transported to the Northern Regional Jail.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
