WVU women bury Eastern Kentucky, earn split in Bahamas

BIMINI, The Bahamas — Tynice Martin’s 17 points and 11 rebounds led five Mountaineers in double-figure scoring as No. 25 West Virginia capped the Junkanoo Jam with an 81-39 win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday.

Along with Martin’s second double-double of the season, Kysre Gondrezick had 17 points and six assists, and Naomi Davenport scored 13 points. Katrina Pardee added 12 points and Madisen Smith finished with 11.

West Virginia (4-1), which bounced back from an 84-81 loss to No. 14 Iowa own Friday, shot 45.9 percent from the field and held  a 43-29 edge in rebounds.

Eastern Kentucky (0-5) was led by 13 points from Catie Kaifes.
