Sunday morning crash on U.S. 50 claims life of Shinnston man

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A 42-year-old Shinnston man is dead, resulting from a crash early Sunday morning on U.S. 50 in Harrison County that involved a water truck and a pickup truck.

Dispatchers were alerted to a vehicle accident with injury and entrapment at 6:53 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 50 and Flinderation Road in Salem.

Four patients were transported, including Christopher McKinney, 42, of Shinnston, who was pronounced dead at United Hospital Center, Harrison County Sheriff Robert Matheny confirmed.

There is no word on the condition of the other patients.

Salem and Nutter Fort fire departments, Salem EMS, Anmoore EMS and Harrison County EMS also responded to the scene.
