CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Traffic on the West Virginia Turnpike over the Thanksgiving holiday was down this year compared to 2017.
According to the West Virginia Parkways Authority, traffic between Nov. 20 and Nov. 25 was down 1.74 percent compared to last year. More than 774,000 transactions were made this year, in which the busiest days were Wednesday and Sunday.
According to general manager Greg Barr, back-ups were minimal and there were no major vehicle incidents.
