Boone County man arrested following death

BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. — A Boone County man is accused of killing a man by punching him in the head with a closed fist.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Ryan Scott Smith, 30, of Seth, allegedly attacked Ronnie Kenney Sr., 51, on Tuesday. The incident happened at a residence along Prenter Road in the Seth area.

Deputies said Smith punched Kennedy, causing his death. Smith was taken into custody without incident.

An investigation is still underway.
