Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve now full-day holidays for public employees

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice issued Monday proclamations declaring Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve as state holidays for public employees.

Both days were previously listed as half-days.

“In recognition of the hard work accomplished throughout the year by our public employees, it is fitting and proper that they spend an extended and enjoyable holiday with their loved ones,” Justice said.
