Roane County residents remain hospitalized following carbon monoxide poisoning

SPENCER, W.Va. — Three Roane County residents who were part of a carbon monoxide poisoning Monday remained hospitalized in Pittsburgh Wednesday.

State police released the names of those involved including Corey Carper, 10, who died from the poisoning. His parents, Christopher and Amanda Carper, along with friend Elijah Armstead, 10 of Newton, are still hospitalized.

Media reports indicate the family felt sick Monday at their home near Looneyville and thought they had a case of the flu. Emergency dispatchers were contacted Monday evening.
