23-0 run lifts Martinsburg past Chapmanville, 74-55

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Martinsburg scored 23 unanswered points to open the second quarter en route to a 74-55 win over Chapmanville.

The Bulldogs outscored the Tigers 31-9 in the second stanza to open up a 52-28 halftime lead. Chapmanville used a 10-0 run between the third and fourth quarters to close their deficit to 15 points but the Bulldog lead was never threatened.

Martinsburg had four players score in double figures, led by Morganne Andrews’ 19-point effort. Prosperity Stitt scored 13, Deaira Hairston added 11 and Amelia Jenkins chipped in with 10.

Champmanville’s Alexiandria Williamson led all scorers with 23 points.

The Bulldogs (2-3) will face George Washington Saturday in the BW3 Morgantown Classic while Chapmanville (3-2) meets Morgantown.
