MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — They have nothing to add, for now.
West Virginia University officials are still “finalizing the details” of the investigation into the Nov. 10 incident that resulted in a WVU student falling down stairs at a fraternity house — and then not receiving treatment for at least two hours until someone finally called police.
A WVU official released the following in a short e-mail exchange Friday morning:
“There are a few details to finalize to complete the process. We anticipate that will occur within a couple of weeks after students return on Jan. 7. Until that happens, the University has nothing to add.”
David Rusko, 22, of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, is a senior finance major at WVU. He was in critical condition in the days and weeks following the Nov. 10 fall.
On Nov. 15, the university announced interim-measure punishments, including the suspension of multiple students and the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
After the fall, Rusko was rendered unconscious. According to investigators, no one called police for at least two hours after Rusko was injured.
According to WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, Rusko had been transferred from Ruby Memorial Hospital to the Shepherd Center in Georgia that deals in traumatic brain injuries.
On Nov. 19, the family requested that Ruby Memorial Hospital cease relaying Rusko’s condition to local media, which is done on individual request.
