Senior status judge appointed to temporary post in Raleigh County

RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. — A retired judge is now being called upon to fill a seat temporarily in Raleigh County.

Judge Charles M. Vickers has been recalled to fill the vacant seat in the Tenth Judicial Circuit after Judge John Hutchison’s appointment to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals.

An administrative order by Chief Justice Margaret Workman says Vickers will begin hearing any of Hutchison’s proceedings starting on January 7 and will continue until Governor Jim Justice appoints a successor to Hutchison.

Justice appointed Hutchison on December 12 to replace Justice Allen Loughry and is scheduled to be sworn in on January 4.
