Supreme Court names Armstrong as interim administrative director

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Joseph Armstrong will serve as the interim administrative director of the West Virginia Supreme Court, Chief Justice Beth Walker announced Wednesday.

Armstrong joined the court’s administrative office in May as director of the Division of Human Resources. He has 30 years of experience in administration and human resources management in the natural resources and health care field.

“Joe is committed to the Court’s accountability and transparency initiatives and has shown valuable leadership during his months working with the Administrative Office. I am confident in his ability to step in to this role and help lead the Court forward,” Walker said in a press release.

According to the court, Armstrong worked closely with former interim Administrative Director Barbara Allen before she retired in November.
