Bond revoked for another suspect in the Raleigh County mine trespass case

BECKLEY, W.Va. — For the second time in three weeks, a judge has revoked bond for one of the people arrested for breaking into an abandoned coal mine in Raleigh County.

Kayla Williams

Circuit Judge Andrew Dimlich ordered the revocation during a hearing Monday for Kayla Williams, 25, of Artie, for violating a condition of a previous bond set against her.  According to Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney Kristen Keller, Williams violated her previous bond by associating with other people facing criminal charges.

Williams was charged in May 2018 with felony of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver and felony conspiracy.

On Jan. 3, bond was revoked for Eddie Williams Jr., who also was accused of violating a previous bond by associating with other people facing criminal charges.  Williams Jr., Kayla Williams, Erica Treadway, and Cody Beverly are charged with various counts related to a trespassing incident at the Elks Run Rock House Powellton mine in December, eventually leading to the rescue of three of the suspects who became lost inside the mine’s tunnels.
