Tractor trailer accident, fuel leak stalls morning commute on I-81

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — I-81 has been cleared through the area. Traffic is flowing at regular speed.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — An early morning accident on heavily-traveled I-81 is creating delays.

The accident was first reported just before 3 Thursday morning at the 8 mile marker near the Tabler Station Road interchange. A tractor trailer struck a temporary Jersey wall in place for a widening project.

A hazmat crew has responded to the scene after first responders noticed a fuel leak.

WV511 reports that one lane is open as of 7:45 am, but traffic is stopped to the Inwood interchange (mile marker 5). Back ups are also happening on secondary roads like U.S. Route 11.
