Fatal fire claims life of woman in Mercer County

MERCER COUNTY, W.Va. — One woman is dead following a fire of a house on Bull Tail Hollow Rd. in Bluefield on Sunday.

Authorities say dispatchers received a call about the fire around 1:30 in the afternoon as the Bluefield, Bluewell and Green Valley Glenwood Fire Departments responded to the call.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud explosion. The single-wide trailer was half engulfed in flames when crews arrived.

Family members say Shirley Price was the homeowner and did not survive. Authorities continue their investigation into the cause of the fire.
