CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — An 80-year-old Clarksburg man is identified as the man who was killed during an officer-involved shooting in Harrison County Monday.

According to Harrison County Sheriff Robert Matheny, Robert Matz was fatally shot when members of the Clarksburg Police Department were attempting to serve a domestic violence protection order at his residence.

Matz was armed and pulled his weapon on the officers. He was then shot by police.

The incident happened on Hamill Avenue at around 10:17 a.m. Monday.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate.
