One dead, two injured in Raleigh County shooting

COAL CITY, W.Va. — One person is dead following a shooting late Sunday night in Raleigh County.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched to a residence on Riley Street in Coal City, in regards to a shooting around 11 p.m. Authorities say an altercation ensued at a residence there involving several people and during the altercation, three people were shot.

Two individuals remain in the hospital due to injuries from the shooting as an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
