Wheeling Park, Bridgeport & Williamstown lead in MVB Champions Cup

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Wheeling Park, Bridgeport and Williamstown lead the way in the latest release of the MVB Champions Cup standings. The winter sports season is now complete following the close of the state basketball tournaments.

In Class AAA, Wheeling Park leads the way in the boys standings with 568 points. Parkersburg, George Washington, University and Hurricane complete the top five.

Wheeling Park has taken the lead in Class AAA girls standings after the Patriots advanced to the girls basketball state tournament. University, George Washington, Morgantown and Parkersburg complete the top five.

In Class AA, the Bridgeport boys and girls lead in their respective categories. Fairmont Senior, Robert C. Byrd, Winfield and East Fairmont comprise the rest of the top five. The Bridgeport girls used a quarterfinal finish at the state basketball tournament to extend their lead for the top spot. Winfield, Fairmont Senior, Robert C. Byrd and Oak Glen round out the top five.

Williamstown continues to lead both Class A competitions. The WHS boys are followed by Wheeling Central, Charleston Catholic, Magnolia and Ravenswood. The Williamstown girls lead Wheeling Central, Charleston Catholic, Magnolia and Parkersburg Catholic.
