CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Darius Hill and Paul McIntosh each drove in three runs as West Virginia blistered Marshall 15-3 at Appalachian Power Park.

The game got out of hand quickly as the Mountaineers (14-10) scored nine runs on five hits in the third inning. The Thundering Herd (15-9) committed two errors in the inning. Eight of West Virginia’s runs scored with one out as the Mountaineers sent 12 men to the plate in the inning.

McIntosh, who went 3-for-6, hit the lone home run of the game with a two-run shot that put West Virginia up 11-0.

The Mountaineers finished the game with 12 hits. Both teams committed three errors.

Nick Snyder earned the win, allowing run on two hits and five walks while striking out seven in 4 innings before five relievers finished out the game tossing an inning each.

West Virginia hosts Oklahoma this weekend in its first Big 12 home series this season.
