Motorcyclist killed in Monroe County collision

PETERSTOWN, W.Va. — One person died in a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcyle Thursday in Monroe County.

According to West Virginia State Police, the incident happened on U.S. Route 219 near Peterstown, when the motorcycle crossed the center line and struck a pickup truck in the opposite lane.

The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital in Giles County, Virginia, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not been released.

Investigators said the other driver was not injured.
