Lincoln rallies from 7-run deficit to defeat Pendleton, 10-7

NUTTER FORT, W.Va. — Back-to-Back four-run innings allowed Lincoln to erase a 7-0 deficit and defeat No. 10 Pendleton County 10-7 in the McDonald’s Classic.

The Wildcats raced out to a 7-0 lead in the fourth inning. The Cougars rallied quickly, scoring four runs in the fourth inning and four more in the fifth to take a lead they would not give back.

Baron Swiger picked up the win in relief for the Cougars while Hunter Moore struck out the final five batters he faced to earn the save. Moore, Jeremiah Carpenter, Camden Brown and Coby Gorby each had a pair of RBI for Lincoln.

Lincoln improved to 9-6 with the victory. The Wildcats, who defeated top-ranked and defending state champion Moorefield on Wednesday, fell to 8-4.
