SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. –– Police believe a young girl missing from the city since April 11 is a runaway and was not abducted.
Trinity Beane, 16, was reported missing April 11th. According to police, she was last heading to school at South Charleston High School carrying a black backpack.
“She was reported missing by her father on April 11th,” said Sgt. Andrew Gordon of the South Charleston Police Department. “Trinity didn’t return home from school when she was supposed to, so her father reached out to us and reported her missing.”
At this point, police believe the evidence in the case points toward Beane as a runaway and not a kidnap victim.
“We’ve interviewed several associates of Trinity and it seems like many of them have had contact with her since this happened,” Gordon said. “It seems she isn’t in any danger, but for whatever reason she just does not want to return home.”
Police say they still hope somebody who knows Trinity’s whereabouts will come forward and enable them to solve the matter.
