Marshall County assessor Kessler dead

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. — Marshall County Assessor Christopher Kessler died Tuesday.

Authorities arrived at Kessler’s McMechen home in the morning. A cause of death has not been released.

The county assessor’s office was closed to the public on Tuesday. The county commission will meet Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. for an emergency meeting.

Kessler worked as county assessor for more than 20 years. He was 55 years old.
