UPDATE: Victim in fatal McDowell County crash identified

IAEGER, W.Va. — The McDowell County Sheriff’s office has released the name of the person killed in a two-vehicle collision Monday in Iaeger.

John Ray Justus of Panther died at the scene, after the car he was driving struck a van on US Route 52.

Five other people, including two children, were hospitalized with unspecified injuries. Their identities were not disclosed.

A McDowell County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson said charges are expected in the case, although the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
