UPDATE: Police arrest Morgantown man for April 20 shooting at strip club

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A 25-year-old Morgantown man is facing three felony charges following the Saturday shooting at Exotic Life Gentleman’s Club.

Fred L-Deauntae Hudson was arrested Wednesday and charged with three felony offenses of malicious assault, wanton endangerment, and prohibited person possessing a firearm.

Monongalia County Sheriff’s Detective Division, along with Morgantown Police Department SWAT Team, Monongalia County SWAT Team, and the Mon Metro Drug Task Force made the arrest.

Sheriff Palmer said the cause of the shooting could be linked to some kind of discrepancy that took place in the club earlier in the night.

Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office detectives conducted a custodial interview with Hudson, who admitted he was in fact the shooter at the Gentleman’s Club.

Hudson was arrested on Pennsylvania Avenue, in Greenmont, in a joint operation between Monongalia County Sheriff’s detectives, the Morgantown Police Department SWAT, Mon County SWAT and Mon Metro Drug Task Force.

MMDTF commander R. Jiles said Hudson was found with a .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun. He said the gun will need to be sent to a lab so ballistics can determine if it’s linked to the shooting.

Court documents state Hudson has felony convictions of breaking and entering and assaulting an officer from 2013.

He was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court on Wednesday by Magistrate Jim Nabors. Bond was set at $75,000 and Hudson was booked into North Central Regional Jail on Wednesday afternoon.

One person was hit by gunfire in the shooting and transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment. The victim’s identity is not released for safety reasons.
