Appalachian Power customers lose power following storms

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Around 4,700 Appalachian Power customers lost services Thursday night following a string of storms.

Areas that lost power include Milton and Ona (1,489 customers), Tornado (1,364 customers) and parts of Mingo County (1,374 customers).

Customers in Cabell County are expected to have services restored by 3 a.m. Friday, while Tornado residents could have services back by 12:30 a.m.

Williamson and Mrytle residents are estimated to have services restored by 4 a.m., and Varney and Red Jacket customers by 5 a.m.
