KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. — A man was killed in a shooting in eastern Kanawha County Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The shooting took place in an apartment building in Belle located in the1800 block of West Dupont Avenue.
West Virginia State Police identified the victim as Nelson Maynard Mitchell, 51, of Belle. The suspect is 32-year-old Jeffrey Alan Wentz, of Dupont City.
Troopers described the shooting as an isolated incident. A motive has not been released.
