Update: Charges filed against driver involved in McDowell County fatal crash

Two vehicles collided April 22nd in Iaeger, leaving one person dead and four others injured.

IAEGER, W.Va. — A McDowell County man has been arrested in connection with a two-vehicle crash that left one person dead and four others injured, last month.

Nicholas Eugene Hunt, 35, of Panther was charged Monday with felony DUI resulting in death, felony DUI resulting in serious bodily injury, negligent homicide, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving, following the April 22 collision on U.S. Route 52 in Iaeger.

Johnny Ray Justus of Panther died in the crash. Four other people, including two children, were hospitalized and have since been discharged.

Hunt was arraigned Monday and remanded to Southwestern Regional Jail on a $23,000 cash-only bond.
