WYOMING COUNTY, W.Va. — CONSOL Energy Inc. on Wednesday announced it has begun developing a metallurgical coal mining site in Wyoming County.
The mine is expected to produce more than 600,000 tons of low-vol coking coal for more than 25 years. Construction is expected to begin by early 2020 depending on permitting and development work. The mine would open in 2021.
The total capital expenditures of the site are expected to be between $65 million and $80 million over the next two years.
