PRINCETON, W.Va. — A Bluefield man has been charged in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in Mercer County during the weekend.
Christopher Wyatt Bailey, 27, was taken into custody Tuesday by West Virginia State Police and charged with first-degree murder in the death of William Lee Simons of Tazewell, Va., whose body was found Sunday on Dawson School Road in the Brushfork area near Bluefield.
Investigators said Simons likely died Saturday evening. The cause of death was not disclosed.
Bailey also was charged with armed robbery.
He was remanded to Southern Regional Jail pending arraignment. No bond was set.
