Photo gallery: Cabell Midland & Ripley claim regional titles

ONA, W.Va. — The Cabell Midland boys and Ripley girls track teams claimed championships at the Class AAA, Region 4 meet Wednesday afternoon at Cabell Midland High School.

  • Ripley junior Tori Starcher swept all four of her events, winning the 800m, 1600m and 3200m runs. She was also part of Ripley’s winning 4×400 meter relay team. The Vikings edged Hurricane 118-116.5 for the team title.
  • The Cabell Midland boys dominated the field en route to the regional title. Cole Burd claimed 100m and 200m titles for the Knights while Gavin Beverage swept the discus and shot put competitions. Beverage set a regional record with a throw of 62 feet, 11 3/4 inches in the shot.
