Two children dead in Summers County fire

HINTON, W.Va. — Two children died and two other people were injured in a house fire Saturday in Hinton.

Four area fire departments, Summers County EMS, Summers County Sheriff’s Deputies, and Hinton Police responded to the scene on 7th Street, shortly after 10 am.

According to a Hinton Police Department spokesperson, the injured victims were another child and an adult male, both of whom were taken to a nearby hospital. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.

No information about the children who died in the incident was released.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
