Suspended Wheeling city manager pleads guilty to DUI

WHEELING, W.Va. — Suspended Wheeling City Manager Robert Herron has pleaded guilty to DUI stemming from a March vehicle accident.

Originally charged with Aggravated DUI, Herron entered the plea Monday morning in Ohio County Magistrate Court.

Herron was sentenced to 104 hours of community service and has enrolled in a West Virginia driver’s safety program.

For the next 10 months he will drive on an interlock license.

The City of Wheeling is expected to make a decision on Herron’s position this week as Wheeling Fire Chief Larry Helms hasĀ worked the position for more than two months.
