Teenager’s body recovered in Guyandotte River

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. — The body of a teenage boy was found in the Guyandotte River in Cabell County Thursday afternoon.

Nathan Lee Skyles, 16, of Barboursville, was last seen Wednesday night. He had been with friends on a popular sandbar near Martha Elementary School and the Esquire Golf Course. He went missing at around 7:30 p.m.

According to authorities, the body was found at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday not far from where Skyles had entered the water.

The investigation into the death continues.
