Police identify woman struck and killed by train in McDowell County

WELCH, W.Va. — Authorities have identified the woman struck and killed by a train in McDowell County earlier this week.

Misty Ann Lane, 36, of Benton, died Tuesday after being struck by a Norfolk Southern train at a crossing in Iaeger. She was walking on the tracks and the westbound train couldn’t stop.

Lane was identified through her fingerprint being put into a national database, state police said.
