CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice has appointed Jean Kranz as the director of the state Children’s Health Insurance Program.
The appointment went into effect last Friday.
The state CHIP is an effort between the federal government and the state to provide low-cost health care to families that make too much money to qualify for Medicaid. The program serves 32,000 West Virginia children on an annual basis.
Kranz will begin July 1.
