Mega Millions ticket worth $2 million sold at Braxton County truck stop

FLATWOODS, W.Va. — Someone bought a Mega Millions ticket at a truck stop in Flatwoods that’s now worth $2 million.

The West Virginia Lottery announced Wednesday the ticket was purchased at the Pilot Flying J just off Interstate 79 in Flatwoods before the Tuesday night drawing. The winner or winners have not yet come forward.

The ticket matched five of the six numbers, only missing the Mega Ball number. They also paid an extra dollar for the ticket deciding to purhase the Megaplier option which doubled their winnings from $1 million to $2 million.

No ticket matched all six numbers drawn Tuesday night. There were other five-match tickets sold in Virginia, California, Michigan and New Jersey. Only the West Virginia and Virginia purchasers opted for Megaplier. The white balls were 9, 21, 34, 2 and 50, while the gold Mega Ball was 21, according to the Lottery.

The Mega Millions jackpot will continue to grow. It’s estimated to be around $444 million for Friday night’s drawing.
