Upshur County man sentenced for firearms charge

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A 27-year-old Upshur County man will spend 20 months in jail for a firearms charge.

Cameron Dixon, of Buckhannon, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a stolen firearm in February 2019. Dixon admitted to having a stolen .45 caliber pistol in September 2017 in Harrison County.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN). Project Safe Neighborhoods is the centerpiece of the Department of Justice’s violent crime reduction efforts.
