SHEPERDSTOWN, W.Va.¬†—¬†Police are looking for a motorcyclist they believe assaulted a state Division of Highways worker on a construction job in Shepherdstown.

The DOH was working at Potomac River Bridge near the Bavarian Inn Wednesday when a motorcyclist, waiting in traffic, moved ahead of a few motorists and was told to wait by a DOH flagman.

According to police, the motorcyclist slowed down and then accelerated toward the flagman lowering his shoulder and making contact with the flagman’s shoulder. The motorcyclist kept going across the bridge. The worker had to go to a hospital for treatment.

Police are still looking for the motorcyclist. Shepherdstown police said he was driving an older model Harley Davidson, wearing a brown jacket and a black and green full face helmet.
