BECKLEY, W.Va. — Raleigh County authorities are investigating a shooting near downtown Beckley, in which a woman, who is eight-months pregnant, was wounded.
According to police, the incident happened on South Charles Street. The 21-year-old victim, whose identity was not released, was taken to a Charleston area hospital. She and the unborn child were listed in stable condition Thursday night. The extent of her injuries was not disclosed.
The suspect was described as a white male with facial hair and tattoos on both arms, wearing a tie-dye T-shirt. He reportedly was seen riding a bicycle on South Oakwood Avenue in Beckley, following the shooting.
