Information released in connection with deadly crash in Upshur County

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — A woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Upshur County on Father’s Day.

The Upshur County Sheriff’s Department released information Monday afternoon about the crash that took place at just a few minutes after noon Sunday at the intersection of U.S. Route 33 and state Route 151.

According to deputies, Ryan and Kendra Neal of Buckhannon were in a truck attempting to cross Route 33 from Kesling Mill to Route 151 when they pulled in front of an SUV being driven by Darell Hyre of Buckhannon. His wife Loise Hyre was a passenger.

Deputies said the Neals were ejected from their truck. Kendra Neal was pronounced dead at the scene. Ryan Neal, Darell and Loise Hyre were seriously injured and taken by helicopter to a hospital.

Deputies said several “good samaritans” stop to assist the crash victims.
