SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Police are crediting a tip in a murder investigation that’s led to an arrest.

Joshua James Harrison

According to South Charleston Police Captain Pat Rader, they were told Joshua James Harrison, 28, of Kanawha County, was at an apartment in the South Hills neighborhood of Charleston. He was arrested Sunday night and charged with murder.

Police allege Harrison shot and killed Thomas Burton Lloyd, 31, of South Charleston, last Wednesday. His body was found in a house in Rock Lake Village. He had been shot in the head.

Rader said Harrison offered no resistance when officers arrived at the home’s door.

“He was fairly cooperative and tired,” Rader said.

Detectives said Harrison and Lloyd were longtime acquaintances.

Harrison is being held in the South Central Regional Jail without bail.
