SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. — Fire destroyed two structures in Nicholas County early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The Courtesy Patrol called Nicholas County 911 at about 1 a.m. reporting the sound of fireworks and heavy smoke close to Route 19 near Mt. Nebo. When fire crews arrived on the scene they found two buildings on Whippoorwill Road in Summersville full of flames.
The state Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate. Nicholas County sheriff’s deputies were originally dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters from Nicholas and Fayette counties battled the fire.
