Woman dies in Weirton fire

WEIRTON, W.Va. — A woman died in a house fire Sunday morning in Weirton.

The victim, 63, was not able to get out of the residence in the 4100 block of Washington Street. The house was full of flames when Weirton fire crews arrived on the scene at shortly after 3:30 a.m.

Crews were able to keep the flames from spreading to neighboring houses.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigation. It appears the fire began in the same room the woman was found.
