Youth coach in Raleigh County accused of molesting team member

BECKLEY, W.Va. — A youth basketball league coach in Raleigh County has been charged with sexual abuse of a team member.

Brian E. Kidd, 48, of Beckley is charged with six counts of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian. Officers reportedly received a call from the alleged victim’s father, stating Kidd was having a sexual relationship with his daughter.

According to court documents, Kidd admitted to officers he had sexual contact with the teen on multiple occasions inside his vehicle.

He is being held at Southern Regional Jail on a $250,000 cash bond.
