CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A Harrison County man is charged with DUI with death after a wreck involving a side-by-side and ATV that claimed his girlfriend’s life.
According to Harrison County sheriff’s deputies, Charles Roach, 41, of Meadowbrook, was towing an ATV with his side-by-side Sunday on Upper Lambert’s Road when the ATV slammed into the rear of the side-by-side causing it to crash near a creek.
Deputies said Roach’s girlfriend was caught between the vehicle and a creek side pipe. She was later pronounced dead at United Hospital Center.
Roach failed several field sobriety tests, authorities said.
He was being held Monday in the North Central Regional Jail on $15,000 bail.
