MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The double-elimination American Legion state baseball tournament will be hosted by Potomac State College in Keyser. The West Virginia state champion will advance to the Mid-Atlantic Regional in Asheboro, North Carolina. Regional competition begins Wednesday, August 7th.
West Virginia will crown a new champion this year as defending champion Parkersburg was eliminated in the Area 3 tournament. South Charleston has played in the state tournament in 19 consecutive seasons. Elkins’ streak has reached 17 years.
