Missing Marion County girl found in Texas

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A missing Marion County girl has been found unharmed in Texas.

The U.S. Marshal’s Office said Thursday that 4-year-old Gracelynn Scritchfield was found in Pecos, Texas. Her father, Arlie Edward Hetrick III. was arrested on state and federal warrants.

Scritchfield was reported missing on July 22.

“Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Clarksburg office have worked diligently alongside the West Virginia State Police to locate this at-risk child and bring the perpetrator to justice,” U.S. Marshal Chief Deputy Alex Neville said.

“We are pleased to announce the child appears to be in good health and has been turned over to child protective services.”

Hetrick and Gracelynn were reportedly seen in Arizona before Thursday, but the reports were not confirmed.
