Teenager killed in Cabell County collision

MERRITTS CREEK, W.Va. — A teenager was killed in Cabell County Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle.

The deadly collision occurred on Big Ben Bowen Highway, which connects Interstate 64 with state Route 2 via Merritts Creek, at about 5 a.m.

A boy, 17, was walking in the northbound passing lane when he was struck. The Cabell County Sheriff’s Department said it was very foggy at the time of the collision.

The teenager, who was on his way to work, was pronounced dead a short time later.

No charges have been filed against the driver.
