Name released in Boone fatal crash

SETH, W.Va. — State police have released the name of the man killed in a collision with an empty tanker truck Tuesday afternoon in the Boone County community of Seth.

According to troopers, Daniel Haney, 21, of Orgas, was killed when, after passing another vehicle on state Route 3, his pick-up collided with the oncoming gasoline tanker.

Witnesses said Haney was passing on a double-line. The driver of tanker swerved to miss the pick-up but was unable to. The tanker truck driver was not injured.
