Person of interest in Pennsylvania murders picked up in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Police took a man into custody Wednesday afternoon wanted for questioning in connection with a double murder in Pennsylvania.

Jack Elijah Turner, 21, is a person of interest in the Saturday deaths of Shannon Whitman, 49, and her 10-year-old son. The bodies were found at Whitman’s home in Crawford County, Pennsylvania.

Charleston police took Turner into custody at the Greyhound bus station Wednesday. He’s being held on a separate armed robbery warrant.

WPXI-TV in Pittsburgh reported there were three confirmed sightings of Turner in Saint Augustine, Florida on Tuesday.
